U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, will host the events with Medicare representatives. They are open to area senior citizens to help them navigate the open enrollment period for their 2012 prescriptions drug plans, which lasts until Dec. 7.

Huizenga will introduce the events in Jenison and Holland, then a representative from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and staff from the Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program will address specifics of this year’s enrollment process and to help seniors ensure the prescriptions they take will still be covered.

The events will take place at Sunset Manor, 725 Baldwin St. in Jenison, from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday; and at Evergreen Commons, 480 State St. in Holland, from 2-4 p.m. Holland.

If you cannot attend one of the events, visit Medicare.gov to review the new 2012 Medicare prescription drug plans, or call 800-633-4227.
