Eberly will talk about her long-standing journalistic career and her love of cooking. She writes a blog called “Michigan Cooking” and has written 15 books.
Eberly was the first woman to cover the Michigan Legislature for any length of time when she was a reporter for United Press International from 1968-74. She interviewed Sen. Robert Kennedy, Pat Nixon and Tom Hayden.
In 1995, Eberly accepted a position at Central Michigan University, where she is an associate journalism professor. She was named the National Federation of Press Women’s Communicator for Achievement in 2003 and has served for eight years as president of the Michigan Press Women.
