Both programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library, 705 Seminole Road in Norton Shores.
On Monday, Nov. 14, Susan Clemente will discuss her book, “Michigan’s Guide to Local Cooking.” It is a guide to understanding and making choices about food, as well as a “local food” cookbook. Clemente’s cookbook is dedicated to those who want to prepare delicious, locally grown food. The program includes samples of local foods.
On Wednesday, Nov. 16, Norton Shores resident Beth Spencer — author of “Pea Soup: Recipes for Body, Mind and Spirit from a Kitchen Table Gourmet” — will share recipes that for years she thought she couldn’t eat as part of everyday meals. While writing “Pea Soup,” Spencer said she learned how to be a “competent eater” and learned to accept her body at its “natural” weight after 40 years of yo-yo dieting and disordered eating.
Books from both authors will be available for purchase after their programs.
