Holland Symphony to perform ‘Classics II’

The Holland Symphony Orchestra's "Classics II' program will feature clarinetist Bradley Wong and guest conductor Clifton Evans.

It will take place at DeWitt Auditorium at Zeeland East High School, 96th Avenue at Riley Street, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are available in advance at Holland Area Arts Council, 150 E. Eighth St.; online at www.hollandsymphony.org; and at the door. Tickets are $18, $15 for senior citizens, $5 for students through college.

Maestro Clifton Evans, Concertmaster Amanda Dykhouse and clarinetist Bradley Wong will give a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will begin with the “Overture to Oberon” by Carl Maria von Weber. Wong will join the orchestra for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto, K. 622.”   Following intermission, the orchestra will perform Alexander Borodin’s “Symphony No. 2 in B minor.”

The audience is invited to a reception following the concert to greet all the musicians.
