Ransford, 32, said he is resigning due to his workload as the director of planning and zoning for Olive and Tallmadge townships; as well as work as the planning consultant for Jamestown Township, for which he was hired in July.

He was appointed to the Grand Haven Township Planning Commission in January 2007. He also served on the township’s Zoning Board of Appeals.

“I appreciate working with all of you,” he told his fellow planning commissioners at their meeting on Monday.

Ransford’s resignation, which is effective after the Nov. 29 ZBA meeting, leaves two vacancies on the Planning Commission, according to Township Manager Bill Cargo.
