The Michigan Ag Council said Miranda Lindsey was awarded $5,000 in grocery gift cards on Tuesday during an event at Choate Dairy Farm in the southern Michigan community of Cement City. The contest was part of the Michigan Farmers Feed U.S. program.

The effort also sought to help Michigan shoppers connect with local farmers.

The Ag Council said Lindsey was selected at random from more than 50,000 sweepstakes registrations received online starting in July.
