Fourteen artists from Holland, Zeeland, Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Saugatuck will display their ArtPrize 2011 works.

The “Reprize” exhibition will open to the public on Thursday, Nov. 17, and run through Dec. 28, in the arts council’s Barbara Padnos Gallery.

An artists reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 17. It is free and open to the public.

Participating artists include Pieter Hof of West Olive, Judy Geertz of Spring Lake, Christa Barnell of Grand Haven, Shawn Marie Hardy of Spring Lake and David Thornsen of Spring Lake.

Also opening on Nov. 17 in the arts council’s Armstrong Gallery is “Collaged Dreams,” which is the collected works of Irene Gates.

Gates is a self-taught artist currently living in Douglas. Throughout her career as an artist, she has used many different mediums including acrylics, pen and ink, cloth, wood, clay, and paper maché. For the last seven years, Gates has been creating 2-D mixed-media pieces using paints, chalks and colored pencils over decorative and antique papers.
