Jason Duncan, an Aquinas College historian, will speak about the highlights of Jacqueline Kennedy’s memories of her life with JFK. He’ll also detail what she chose to reveal and what to keep secret during a series of interviews with Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. just after her husband’s death.
The lecture will take place at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, 300 Pearl St. N.W. in downtown Grand Rapids.
“Duncan will get beneath the hype and explore that question by using the newly released interviews of Jacqueline Kennedy as a springboard,” explained Gleaves Whitney, director of the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies. “Since he is writing a major biography of our 35th president, his talk will sharpen our understanding of Kennedy through the most wide-ranging comments his wife ever made about him and their life together.”
