“We have the lights coming on for the first time in downtown Grand Haven (and) lots of great store specials,” Dana Kollewehr, director of the Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority, said Friday night.

Commemorative mugs filled with cider from Vander Mill were given to the first 400 guests who arrived. Students from Lakeshore Christian Academy sang Christmas carols for two hours, participating stores hosted holiday open houses, and the Tri-Cities Historical Museum staff welcomed visitors to the opening of their “Deck the Halls” display with popcorn and hot chocolate.
