GHDPS ‘Out-of-Town Home Check‘ forms available

Grand Haven residents are invited to complete a "Vacation/Out-of-Town Home Check' form if they are going away during the holidays.

After completing the form, the department’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program officers will conduct regular security checks of your home if you are away for more than seven days, and let you and/or your emergency contact know if there is any security concerns observed.  

The form contains questions regarding your home, if there is an alarm, will pets be in the home, when you are leaving and when you will return, and contact information. All information is kept confidential and will not be released to anybody other than public safety personnel, the alarm company (if applicable) and your designated emergency contacts.

Upon receiving the completed form, RSVP officers will send you “While You Are Away” security tips to consider before leaving town.
