It will run Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. through Dec. 10 — with a Sunday matinee on Nov. 27 — at the HCT Playhouse, 50 W. Ninth St. in Holland.
Tickets can be purchased at the theater’s box office, Monday through Friday evenings, and one hour before show time on the weekends; and online anytime at www.hollandcivictheatre.org. All tickets are $8.
John, played by HCT veteran Russell Gallas, hasn’t enjoyed a “real Christmas” for years. He decides to “rent” a Christmas from Anne (role shared by two other familiar HCT actors, Anna Worbois and Katie TenHaken) at the local rent shop. At first flustered — a tree with presents, Christmas carols and also a wife and five children — Anne solves the problem of a Christmas family by calling the actors’ guild.
But the young actors come down with the measles, so she turns to the local orphanage, and Anne steps in to play the mother herself.
The Rented Christmas is directed by Jodi Miller, and the Assistant Director is Lynda DeCan.
