The ensemble is under the direction of Pam Pierson.
Being recognized for excellence is not unfamiliar to this group of young women, having been selected for the Michigan Music Conference in January. This recent invite, however, may taste a bit sweeter to the students: They are only one of six choirs selected and the only high school women’s choir invited to the conference.
The choral members are hosting an old-fashioned “Holiday Family Tea” fundraiser to help defray the cost of travel to the Indiana conference. It will take place at the West Ottawa Performing Arts Center, 1024 136th Ave. in Holland Township, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
While guests enjoy holiday confections and hot beverages, the ensemble will perform a few of their favorite holiday choral selections and provide a variety of performances by the group’s students.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $6 and may be purchased at the door. Seating is limited and reservations are available by calling 616-738-6865 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
