House Bill 5189 was approved Wednesday by the House of Representatives and sent with its companion bill, HB-5190, to the Senate for consideration.

“Michigan winters can be difficult and no one needs the added stress of worrying about how to keep the furnace running,” said Price, R-Park Township. “The transfer of these funds will provide basic heating utilities assistance for our neediest residents through the winter months. Once the fund is set up for this winter, we will be considering long-term fixes to prevent utility emergencies in the future.”
