Council members boarded a Harbor Transit bus and visited eight commercial contestants circled with wreaths, lights and window paintings.

Mary Paparella, Spring Lake Village administrative assistant and holiday decorating contest organizer, said she was pleased this year’s display included several new businesses — Village Baker, On the Path Yoga and Amy’s Hair Hydeaway, which moved to the village from Spring Lake Township earlier this year.

This year’s winners:

First place – Village Baker, 617 E. Savidge St.

Second place – Harbor Hospital for Animals, 807 W. Savidge St.

Third place tie – Amy’s Hair Hydeaway, 110 S. Lake Ave. and Eye Care One, 314 W. Savidge St.

The People’s Choice award was also a tie between Village Baker and Butch’s Beach Burrito, 728 E. Savidge St.
