The company asked for all associates to submit recipes for a cookbook. More than 200 recipes were submitted and the sales of the cookbook earned nearly $600.
For its “Penny Wars,” the company split into four age groups and jars were placed in the lunchroom. Pennies were positive points; and any other coin, bill or check were negative points. The goal was to have the most points to win. This event raised $180.
Other activities included a bake sale and a chili cookoff, and a wheel that provided chances to earn candy or a vacation day for $1 a spin.
Light Corp. also did their own extension of the United Way’s Day of Caring at Love INC and Harbor Humane Society on Nov. 21. Employees stocked food pantries, cleaned kennels and gave their time in a good-natured manner.
