The advisory area includes Ottawa, Muskegon, Allegan, Mason, Oceana and Van Buren counties.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids said 20-30 mph winds will gust into the 45-50 mph range at times. The winds will turn northwest this evening before subsiding some overnight.

The highest winds will be along the immediate shoreline, but gusts in excess of 45 mph are possible in the Lakeshore counties.

Impacts:

— High-profile vehicles may find travel a bit more difficult today and tonight, especially if traveling on north- to south-orientated roadways like U.S. 31.

— Garbage cans or any loose items that remain in your yard may be blown around by the wind.
