Ottawa County Parks Director John Scholtz will explain the greenway concept and tell how the approach lends itself to the preservation of natural lands and creation of recreational opportunities in our area at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5. It will take place in Program Room A of Loutit District Library, 407 Columbus Ave. in Grand Haven.

The presentation will provide an overview of Ottawa County parks and open spaces located along the Grand River corridor — including a description of natural and historic features, park facilities, and plans for future park development. Some of the best-kept recreational secrets in the county will be revealed for your enjoyment year-round.

This program launches a series of 24 year-long programs presented by local historians and naturalists to discuss the unique aspects of the Grand River Greenway hosted at the library.
