The Women’s Christian Temperance Union has set an informal meeting for 1 p.m. Thursday at Loutit District Library, 407 Columbus Ave., to explore the possibility of having a strong presence once again in the Grand Haven area.

Gladys Busman of Spring Lake, who is helping to re-establish the local temperance union, said the work of the organization will be explained and discussed at Thursday’s meeting. She said women of all ages and denominations are welcome to attend.

Busman said the organization had a strong presence in the area in the past, but interest has dwindled in recent years.

For more information, call Busman at 842-8657 or call 842-6743.
