“Trees: A Closer Look” will feature the etchings of Ladislav Hanka and sculpture of Marcia Perry, Jan. 9 through Feb. 25, in the Barbara Padnos Gallery and Amanda Jane Armstrong Gallery. Internationally recognized Kalamazoo-based printmaker Hanka and Saugatuck sculptor Marcia Perry have shown work together recently in South Haven, and this exhibit reveals their deep respect and admiration for the sacred tree motif.

“Letting Paint Be Paint: Splashes, Drips and Smears” offers a collaboration between three painters: Christine Towner, Michele Gort and Emerson Schreiner. All three are associated with the Washington Square Gallery in Holland. With an emphasis on expression, the artists invite the viewer to join them in a celebration and exploration of the physical qualities of the medium.

This exhibit will be available for public viewing in the Mainstreet Gallery and Lievense Gallery from Jan. 9 through Feb. 25.

An artists’ opening reception will be held in the galleries from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. This event is free and open to the public.
