“Jigs and Jigsaws” will be the kickoff event for the Grand River Greenway Parks Celebration 2012, a year-long celebration of the progress toward establishing a public greenway across Ottawa County. “Jigs and Jigsaws” will be held at the newly remodeled Connor Bayou log cabin, on North Cedar Street on the south side of the Grand River, from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Pre-registered teams of four will race to assemble a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle.
Registration forms are available at the county parks office, Loutit and Spring Lake district libraries, and the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. The event is limited to 10 teams.
The $40 registration fee per team includes one jigsaw puzzle. The limited-edition puzzle’s design is top secret until the day of the contest. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. Popcorn and soft drinks will be served to entrants.
Upon completion of the puzzle competition, the public is invited into the Connor cabin for live music by Tiki O’Riley. Beverages and snacks will be available.
