The National Weather Service said this morning that snow may begin to fall early Thursday, and become steady in the afternoon as colder air begins to move into the area. The snow will persist through Friday and may become heavy at times.

Winds will increase Friday and may lead to some blowing and drifting snow, especially along the Lakeshore.

The potential snowfall for this storm is 6 inches or more.

Impacts:

— Hazardous travel conditions may develop Thursday afternoon and persist through Friday.

— Roads may become snow-covered and slick.

— Visibilities may be reduced to under a half-mile in heavier snow bands.
