City Council voted 3-2 Monday night to raise rates for both seasonal and transient boaters using the marina. Councilmen Mike Fritz and John Hierholzer voted against the increase.

Rates will be increased 1.15 percent for transient slips.

Seasonal rates were also raised to $5,000, with a $1,000 rebate for boaters who made on-time payments and complied with lease provisions. After rebates, the effective rate increase for 2012 is $54.

Council also added in language that freezes the rates at the current level for three years.
