Love INC Board of Directors President Kevin Velik announced that, effective immediately, Love INC Executive Director Eric Morgan would be promoted to president and CEO of the local nonprofit agency.

“Eric is going to be our leader and our visionary,” Velik said. “We’re excited, we’re blessed and we’re growing.”

As president and CEO, Morgan will be solely responsible for finances, fundraising and organizational development at Love INC Tri-Cities. He will also be responsible for meeting annual goals and objectives, strategizing, financial oversight, mentoring, and board development.

Currently, Morgan is in charge of this and all day-to-day operations, and the new role will allow him to focus solely on one area.

“We’re very concerned that we have the organization aligned properly for the future,” Velik said.

The meeting took place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven.

According to Velik, Morgan has been executive director since Love INC Tri-Cities was established 10 years ago, and has helped the organization grow from providing a little more than $200,000 worth of services in 2002 to nearly $4 million in 2010. Additionally, Velik said Love INC’s assets have grown from $5,000 in 2002 to $3.2 million in 2010.

Love INC officials hope to have a new executive director in place by March 1.
