The shop will specialize in rebuilds and repairs.

“It just seemed like a good location along the highway, because there’s no other transmission shops (in the city),” Sheila Curtis said.

Curtis said the business is a full-service transmission repair facility that will specialize in a variety of areas — ranging from foreign to domestic vehicles, standard and automatic transmissions, four-wheel-drive and high-performance vehicles, clutches, and even fluid services.

“This is Grand Haven’s only state-certified transmission repair facility,” Curtis said. “Hopefully, we’re needed. We’ll see.”

The Curtises are keenly familiar with working with a transmission facility.

“We previously owned a transmission repair facility and sold it in 2010,” she said.

A grand opening celebration is planned for Saturday from 1-5 p.m.
