The story explores the struggle and triumphs of black Americans as they migrated from the Old South to the prosperous north during World War II. They left behind the legacy of slavery and segregation, and set out to find the American dream. Cicely Tyson narrates, with songs by Stevie Wonder and Miles Davis.

Following the showing, the movie’s producers and directors Jim and Rob Schaub will host a question-and-answer period.
