The Postcard Salon features an exhibition of original, small-scale artworks created by area artists in many types of media.

The art will all be available for purchase at a flat price of $30 each on Salon Thursday. The event starts with refreshments at 5:30 p.m. and the sale will begin at 7.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.

Each year, the museum invites artists of all ages and skill levels to enter up to five works of art created in “postcard” size. Last year, 860 of the small-scale works were submitted for the non-juried event. Art made from many different materials — from traditional paint, pencil, photography, wood, glass, ceramics and jewelry was submitted. Subject matter is as creative and individual as the artists themselves.

Artists wishing to submit artwork must make sure it is delivered to the museum by Jan. 23. Art guidelines are available at the museum or at www.muskegonartmuseum.org.
