The second annual Lakeshore’s Junior Day of Caring will take place Friday, Feb. 10, from 9:45 a.m. to noon.

Shannon Morton, director of volunteerism for the local United Way, is working with Kristin Blain, a Lakeshore Middle School teacher, to ensure students have a safe and rewarding experience volunteering.

“Last year’s success made it a must for this year,” Blain said.

Students and chaperones will be volunteering their time and muscle to many different organizations.

“A junior day of caring is a great way to introduce students to a philanthropic lifestyle at an early age,” Morton said.
