Hosted by Ottawa County Parks to benefit the Grand River Greenway Project, the “Ski & Smooch” event for couples was turned into a “Hike & Hug” because of the poor cross-country skiing conditions at the park due to the lack of snow.

Around a campfire at the park, each couple had a photo taken and then walked the 2-mile trail through the woods lit by luminaries. Along the way, they answered trivia toward prizes, tasted chocolates, sipped wine, drank hot chocolate and cider, and enjoyed a couple’s massage.

Roger Jonas set off fireworks at the end of the evening.
