The break occurred at about 9:30 a.m. near Barrett Boat Works, 821 W. Savidge St. Businesses on both sides of Savidge Street from School Street west to the M-104 bridge were without water most of the day, said Spring Lake Village Public Works employee Ty Inso.

The break in the 8-inch main was repaired by about 2:30 p.m. and water was back on in area businesses by 3 p.m., village officials reported.

Old Boys Brewhouse owner Melissa Brolick said the restaurant was closed all day because they could not operate without water. They were planning to be open by 5 p.m.

Fruitport Township Police at 4:30 p.m. reported a water main break in the area of Fruitport Road and Brooks Road. The road was expected to be closed until about 10 p.m.
