Shelleye Yaklin has been CEO and president of the North Ottawa Community Health System since 2007. In those four and a half years, Yaklin has had to announce losses of nearly $5 million in her first two fiscal year reports; a net loss of $2.1 million for the 2008-09 fiscal year; and finally a small gain of $100,000 in the last report, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.

While Yaklin and NOCHS Chief Communications Officer Jen VanSkiver won’t reveal the financial numbers for the 2010-11 until Monday’s annual meeting, they said the Grand Haven-based health system’s financial health has “stabilized” — and they are ready to boast about the other positive contributions and improvements over the past year.

The meeting is open to the public. It will be held in the multipurpose room of North Ottawa Community Hospital, 1309 Sheldon Road, beginning at 5 p.m.
