This means that, instead of sounding all county sirens simultaneously, several sirens in one area are activated, then the following area, until all sirens in the county are tested. This could mean that some communities may hear the sirens slightly after the noon hour as each area is activated separately — one after the other.
The jurisdictions of Georgetown, Hudsonville, Coopersville and Zeeland will test the sirens for their own jurisdictions in coordination with Ottawa County Emergency Management. When tested, the sirens will sound for approximately 1-3 minutes.
Monthly tests will occur on the first Friday of each month through November. The next scheduled test is April 6.
