Prizm to play for Tuesday Musicale

A quartet consisting of two oboes, bassoon, and piano or harp will perform for Tuesday Musicale at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Grand Haven Community Center.

Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome for an $8 donation.

The quartet, called Prizm, is directed by Nancy Summers-Meeusen. She has been principal oboist for the West Michigan Symphony and the St. Louis Municipal Summer Theater. She holds a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Michigan. 

Oboist Bonnie Bierma is an alumnus of the University of Michigan School of Music. She is classical music director for Blue Lake Public Radio and a member of the West Michigan Symphony.

Bassoonist Cindy Goudzwaard earned a music degree at Michigan State University and a nursing degree at GVSU. She recently retired after 30 years with the West Michigan Symphony. 

Barbara Boertje DeVries, pianist/harpist, is director of choirs for the First Reformed Church in Grandville. She was formerly a church music director in California and a missionary in Japan.
