Just for Kids spring programs to begin March 11

The Ottawa County Parks Nature Education Center is offering a variety of spring nature programs for kids. The Just For Kids series will be held every Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. at the Nature Education Center in West Olive.

The one-hour indoor/outdoor programs are grade-specific and each program will have a different topic. There are no fees and advance registration is not required.  

— March 11: “Beavers,” for grades 3-6
— March 18: “Squirrels,” grades K-2
— March 25: “Spring Things,” grades 3-6
— April 1: “Woodpeckers,” grades K-2
— April 8: “Coyotes,” grades 3-6
— April 15: “Puppet Show,” grades K-2
— April 22: “Earth Day,” grades 3-6
— April 29: “Habitat,” grades K-2
— May 6: “Nature Games,” grades 3-6
— May 13: “Life Cycles,” grades K-2
— May 20: “Shadows,” grades 3-6
— May 27: “Flying Squirrels,” grades K-2
— June 3: “Birding,” grades 3-6

Parents with younger children can join “Explorations with Your Young Child” at the Nature Education Center at 10 a.m. Wednesdays: March 14, April 18 and May 16. These one-hour indoor/outdoor monthly programs are designed to help parents and children explore the natural world together, and are for parents with children ages 2-4. Parents will actively participate with their young explorers. There are no fees and advance registration is not required.
