Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 30s after midnight. Diminishing winds and clearing skies will allow areas of frost to develop overnight into early Thursday morning.

Damage is possible to unprotected sensitive vegetation, including newly budded plants and trees.

A frost advisory is issued when frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Those with agricultural interests in the advisory area should protect tender vegetation.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area tonight: Areas of frost after 2 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 35. North-northwest wind between 5 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Thursday: Areas of frost before 9 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 49. Northeast wind around 7 mph.
