Frost and freeze warning overnight

A freeze warning is in effect for Ottawa County from 2-9 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service said temperatures will fall below freezing overnight, with potential of damage to tender vegetation. Potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside tonight.

The warning area also includes Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Muskegon, Montcalm, Gratiot, Kent, Ionia and Clinton counties.

The weather bureau's forecast for the Grand Haven area calls for the possibility of frost again early Friday and early Saturday, with temperatures dropping near or below freezing.
