The event's schedule will be similar to what it has been for the past nine years, said organizer Steve Loftis. Blues music will be played at The Kirby House, Theatre Bar, The Grand and Dee-Lite on both days.
Loftis said an announcement will be coming soon as to the headlining act for this year's festival.
"Chilly Blues 2012 will also be featuring local favorites such as Big Daddy Fox, the Vincent Hayes Project — winner of three Grand Rapids 2011 Jammies awards — and many more," Loftis said.
At 10 a.m. April 21, chili contestants will begin their final preparation for the noon shotgun start to the chili cookoff on the heated outdoor deck at Snug Harbor. Live blues music will begin playing at 1 p.m. and the panel of judges will dig into the chili beginning at 3 p.m.
The weekend festivities will be capped off with a Sunday Blues Bloody Mary Bar at the Dee-Lite Bar and Grill, beginning at noon.
