“Our motto is really big-city fashion with small-town customer service,” Glik’s spokesperson Kristi Ham said.

Founded in 1897 in St. Louis, Mo., Glik’s is a family-owned apparel company. The Grand Haven store joins 54 other locations in nine states. There are 14 stores in Michigan.

“We just love the feel of the town,” regional manager LeaAnne Runyon said. “I think it’s a great downtown. Everyone has been super-inviting and super-nice, so we’re excited about being here.”

The Grand Haven store will carry name-brand items from Silver Jeans, Billabong, Hurley, Roxy, Fox, Quiksilver, DC, Volcom, Miss Me and TOMS.

Runyon said Glik’s tries to acclimate to each town they are in so the merchandise carried in the Grand Haven store isn’t necessarily what they have in other stores.

“Every store is unique and it’s unique to the community,” she said. “When you walk into a Glik’s store in a town, it’s not going to be like a cookie-cutter store or a big-box store.”

Starting out, Glik’s will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
