Frost advisory overnight

After the wind subsides overnight, temperatures are expected to fall into the lower 30s, with areas of frost in the early morning Tuesday.

The frost advisory is in effect from 2-9 a.m. Tuesday. The advisory area includes Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.

A frost advisory is issued when frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Tender vegetation will need to be protected overnight. Potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside tonight.
