Houses moved to make way for M-231

Two houses were moved today to make room for the M-231 bypass.

The homes — one from Johnson Street and one from Rich Street — were moved down 120th Avenue in Robinson Township, where they met at Lincoln Street. They were then taken down Lincoln to 152nd Avenue in Grand Haven Township.

The full story will be in Wednesday's edition of the Grand Haven Tribune.

Will be looking forward to reading the "full story" in tomorrow's Tribune, as myself and several neighbors would like to know the name of the moving company that did the physical moving of these houses.
We arrived at home this afternoon to find our mailboxes snapped off at ground level and left laying our front yards. Since there was no note left behind to indicate who would be responsible for making repairs, I will be reading tomorrow's story with great interest.

I like Becky's photo . . . Houses being moved. . . and then there's the sign in the yard that says Moving? Only $19.95. Hopefully the moving company made enough money to pay for all your new mailboxes!

Moving a house requires road use permit. Check with the Ottawa County Road Commission @ 616-eight four two-5400. Ask to speak with whoever issued the road use permit for that road on that date. Get the name and phone number of the house mover. More reliable than the waiting for the Tribune
