Animals of all breeds and sizes were blessed on Tuesday.

Pet owners gathered for “Blessing of the Pets” at 9 a.m. in the school parking lot “green space” at St. Mary’s Parish School in Spring Lake.

Father Dan DePew, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, led a ceremony before blessing the pets with holy water.

“Blessing of the Pets” follows the teaching of St. Francis by honoring the love people have for animals.

Mysticism, fairy tales, religion - the holy trinity, all the same. This is ridiculousness at its finest.

You forgot........magical thinking, cultism, superstition, childlike beliefs, self deception, the ressurection, santa claus, tooth fairy, easter bunny.

So what 43·, it doesn't harm you. Get over it and let them enjoy it!

Wing- where does Holy Water come from?

Wingmaster

Again, who cares? If it makes them happy and it does no harm....unless you think they are wasting a natural resource!!

43°North

it comes from the faucet..

ghresident

They freeze the hell out of it, hence Holy Water.
