Megan Crumbacher Doss will serve as grand marshal as the parade winds through downtown Grand Haven on Saturday, Dec. 1.

A native of Grand Haven, Crumbacher Doss became active with the local Chamber of Commerce 12 years ago while launching her event planning business, Special Events LLC. She became involved in volunteer activities that assisted nonprofit and community organizations in improving the quality of their events and activities.

Crumbacher Doss helped redefine and grow the annual Sand Sculpture Contest, served on the Spring Lake Rotary Club youth service and life leadership committees, and was active with OcktoberFest while serving on the promotions committee of the Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority. She is also a member of the Love INC Board, part of the 100 or More Women Who Care philanthropy group and has served as chairwoman of the Friends of the Grand River Greenway Committee.

Crumbacher Doss was honored in May with the chamber's 2012 Spirit of Community Award for devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others, and demonstrating leadership and initiative in the development of volunteer projects.

The Jingle Bell Parade will begin at 6 p.m. from the Ottawa County parking lot on Franklin Avenue, under the direction of Parade Director Dennis McKee and the Chamber Ambassadors. The parade will continue west on Franklin to Harbor Drive, north on Harbor to Washington Avenue, and then proceed east on Washington to Central Park for the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree and a carol sing with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Salvation Army canteen will be at Central Park to serve hot chocolate.
