Wind advisory for Lakeshore

A wind advisory remains in effect for the Lakeshore until 10 tonight.

The advisory area includes Ottawa, Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Allegan and Van Buren counties.

The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids said northwest winds will blow between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts to 45, into this evening. The highest winds will be highest right along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Impacts:
— Scattered power outages are possible.
— High-profile vehicles may have difficulty on north-south routes, such as U.S. 31.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area tonight: Snow showers. Low around 27. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 22 mph and gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 33. North-northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
