He will be closing district offices in Holland, Cadillac (which will no longer be part of the 2nd District) and Muskegon.
The congressman said the new district office locations will better serve constituents in the newly configured Michigan 2nd Congressional District.
"Redistricting and population shifts have altered the make-up of the 2nd District," Huizenga said. "We will be consolidating from three offices down to two because 95 percent of casework is now handled through e-mail and over the phone. Additionally, having only two offices will save taxpayer dollars."
The new district will take effect in January. It was reconfigured based on the 2010 Census. Ottawa County remains the largest county in the district.

Huizenga said he and his staff will also hold office hours at satellite locations in Muskegon, Holland and Ludington to ensure those that need one-on-one service have an opportunity to meet in person.
Constituents may continue to call the Holland office at 616-395-0030 until Jan. 3. An announcement on new phone numbers will be made as soon as they are finalized.
