Since 4 a.m. Thursday, about 170,000 Consumers customers have been affected by weather-related outages.

“We have a significant number of employees, contractors and equipment focused on the hardest hit areas in northern and western Michigan,” said Garrick Rochow, the utility’s vice president for energy delivery. “We expect to have power restored to nearly all customers affected by this strong storm by midnight tonight. We thank our customers for their patience.”

In Ottawa County, 68 Consumers customers were still without power as of this morning.
