The National Weather Service said rain will overspread southwest Lower Michigan on Saturday night, then change to freezing rain by midnight as temperatures fall below freezing.

The freezing rain will mix with sleet and snow after 3 a.m. Sunday. It will all change to light snow before ending late Sunday morning.

Ice accumulations of one-tenth to three-tenths of an inch are expected by mid-morning Sunday, with the heaviest icing from south of Holland to just north of a line from Grand Rapids to near Alma.

Snowfall will mostly be under an inch.

Travel on Sunday morning will become hazardous because of icy roads and streets. Some power outages are possible as the ice accumulates on power lines.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists to adjust their speeds based on the weather conditions, and to take it slow in ice and snow.
