A Detroit man was driving the semi truck west on Savidge Street about 9:20 a.m. He went under U.S. 31 onto the ramp that goes back into Spring Lake, lost control and jackknifed the vehicle on the slippery roadway, said Officer Adam Van Dis of the Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police Department.

The back of the trailer hit the guardrail and the tractor went off the road and hit the "wrong-way" sign.

The ramp from Ferrysburg to Spring Lake was closed for almost an hour and a half before the semi truck was removed.

Van Dis said no other vehicles were involved. The driver was not injured.
