M-231 open house is Wednesday

The Michigan Department of Transportation will host an open house from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Crockery Township Hall to review M-231 construction plans.

The meeting will focus on summer traffic impacts on I-96, M-104 and 112th Avenue, including detour information and construction timelines.

Work in 2013 includes:

*Constructing new bridges over the Grand River, Little Robinson Creek and Leonard Street.

*Constructing the new M-231 route from the new Grand River bridge north to I-96/M-104.

*Reconstructing I-96 roadway and bridges from Apple Drive east to 112th Avenue.

*Making improvements to the I-96/112th Avenue interchange.

MDOT personnel will staff the open house. Visitors are welcome to review maps, ask questions and provide feedback.

Crockery Township Hall is located at 17431 112th Avenue in Nunica.
