The Kids Against Hunger event will take place Friday, March 6, at the church, 16790 VanWagoner Road in Ferrysburg. The public is invited to come at 6:30 that evening to help package meals, which will feed hungry children locally and around the world.

Kids Against Hunger is an international humanitarian food relief organization based in New Hope, Minn. They package a specific blend of highly nutritious food that has a three-year shelf life, is easy for starving people to assimilate and prepare, isn't offensive to anyone's religion or culture, is inexpensive (28 cents per meal), and tastes good.

Some of the 10,000-plus meals packaged at the local church will be given to Love INC of the Tri-Cities.
