Rain, or a mix of rain and snow, will change to all snow overnight. Snow accumulation of 1-3 inches is expected.

Wet roads will freeze up as temperatures fall below the freezing mark. The transition from wet roadways to icy conditions may catch drivers off-guard, and slide-offs and crashes may occur.

Visibilities in snow could fall to a half-mile or less for a few hours overnight.

If you are traveling, be alert and adjust your speed based on the weather and road conditions. Take it slow in ice and snow.

The winter weather advisory also includes Muskegon and Kent counties.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area:

Today: A 30 percent chance of snow before 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. North-northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. West-northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.
