The weather bureau said snow showers will continue tonight, with 2-5 inches of accumulation likely. Locally higher amounts are possible.

West winds will gust to about 25 mph at times, causing blowing and drifting snow into this evening. Roads will become snow-covered and slick, and sudden lower visibilities could impact travel.

The advisory area also includes Muskegon, Mason, Lake, Oceana, Newaygo, Allegan, Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area:

Tonight: Snow showers. Low around 21. Northwest wind at around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches.

Thursday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of less than 1 inch possible.
